Week 2 Predictions

Last week’s predictions went an astounding 11.5 – 3. For scoring, 1 win is given for correct series prediction and ½ a point given for correct series score that is not a tie.

Mets/Giants – The only team down worse than the Mets right now is the Giants. I expect the Mets slow hitting to pick up and their pitching them continue to carry them in a pitchers park

Mets 3-1

Braves/Dbacks – I think the Braves will have the rotation of “doom and despair” this weekend. I expect the Dbacks offense to get rolling while the Braves remain a little off offensively. D Backs 3-1

Blue Jays/White Sox – I am one of the biggest white sox believers this year. Their offense can be electric, which is why I think they steal one. But the pitching is still a problem and they haven’t taken their first series yet. Blue Jays 2-1.

Padres/Red Sox– I don’t think it will be easy, in fact, I think they will probably lose their opener. But I believe the Red Sox will have a turn of fate going into their home opener. Red Sox 2-1.

Marlins/Yankees – One of my series of the week. I think the Yankees definitely have good pitching, but their hitting has been slow. They face some good arms to start the series and the Marlins hitters are hot. I think they steal the Yankees opening day and the series. Marlins 2 -1.

Cardinals/Tigers – The Tigers just overpower the Cardinals who’s offense has been far less than stellar. Tigers 3-0.

Dodgers/Nats – WHILE I do want to join the hype of the Nats offense rolling. The Cade Cavali wave is here to stay and I did predict their series win over the Cubs last week. However, the Dodgers are better in every facet and that Nats bullpen is ROUGH. Dodgers 3-0.

Brewers/Royals – Brewers are for real. Whatever “luck” they had last year has propelled this team into a real wagon with confidence. The Royals have been struggling mightily at the plate and face some great arms in the pen and rotation. Brewers 3-0.

Reds/Rangers – I foresaw the Rangers stealing the series from Philly and I think it is more than just the Phillies being overrated. I am riding with the Rangers pitching this weekend to stay strong. Rangers 3-0.

Cubs/Guardians – Guardians had a good showing against the Dodgers but I think that was strongly due to the carry of pitching like Gavin Williams. I think the matchups favor the Cubs this weekend. Cubs 2-1.

Rays/Twins – Twins stole some games so far this season, but no ace and no hitting is a bad matchup against any team above the AAA level. Rays 2-1.

Phillies/Rockies – I think the Rockies have shown some small glimmers of promise. The Phillies still massively out talent them and they can bang. Rockies being at home and facing this bullpen may lead to the Rockies stealing one of the games. Phillies 2-1

Orioles/Pirates – This is going to be an absolute banger this weekend. Especially with the initial matchup on Friday night. I think the series is going to come down to the pitching because both teams have hit to start the season. This is the most of a toss-up I have felt so far but I am riding with the Pirates to take their home opener. Pirates 2-1.

Mariners/Angels – Both teams have had some embarrassing series to start the season. However the Mariners are just so much more talented and I think only so many of their hitters can struggle all at once. I expect the mariners to get it done. Mariners 2-1.

Astros/A’s – Another one of my favorite series of the week. I think the A’s will be more fun this weekend in Sacramento. I expect the Astros to stay hot riding a resurgence of Yordan Alvarez. I expect at least one Athletics offensive banger to take a game but the Astros take the series. Astros 2-1.
